We finally did away with the last bit of beige in our house (sort of – it’s still in the closets and the hall bathroom, but we’re ignoring that). Here’s our lovely living room in the beige phase.
Here’s a view from the other side of the room.
I made a mood board of what I’d like to do with our living room. Gray walls, colorful curtains, geometric rug, bamboo curtains, and some Ikea furniture.
We’re going to arrange the room a little differently too. I hope this makes sense, haha. Sectional L-shaped couch in the corner by the front window, a rug, chairs, etc. I’d like to put a bookshelf next to the fireplace too.
Fast forward! Here’s the room with new paint, curtains and furniture layout.
The curtains are homemade. I made them a while ago, but finally got around to hanging them after putting off painting to entirely too long, haha.
The fireplace is a bit of dilemma. I’m not totally sure what to do with it, but I think I’d like to turn it into a bookshelf with a hidden door that leads to a secret tunnel. Like in the movies. Haha. Something like that will be great.
I put the same curtains in the kitchen. The two rooms connect, so it didn’t make sense to have different curtains when the rooms feel like one. I made the curtains a little short. I didn’t want them dragging on the floor (even though I like the puddled look) because the dog’s hair can get crazy.
So that’s what we’ve got going on in the living room. We went to Ikea to check out the couches and furniture last weekend, and we’re set on the styles, we just need to penny pinch to make sure it’s in our budget. We did just buy a couple of major appliances, after all, haha.
